"Ingine Unveils Innovative Cybersecurity Service: Boosting Training Opportunities and Job Prospects"

Bermudian Start-Up and Portuguese Tech Company Partner to Bring Military-Level Cybersecurity Services to Bermuda

A new partnership between a Bermudian start-up and a Portuguese international technology company is set to revolutionize cybersecurity services for local and international companies in Bermuda. The collaboration will also create new opportunities for Bermudians to receive specialized training in cybersecurity, leading to increased employment prospects in this rapidly growing field.

Ingine, the Bermudian-owned IT security and managed IT services company, has formed strategic partnerships with Redshift, a Portuguese company specializing in cyber security solutions, and QuoVadis, a Bermuda-based provider of managed data center, colocation, and cloud-hosting services. This collaboration aims to offer comprehensive cloud solutions and managed services that enable businesses to fully digitalize their workplace while ensuring data protection and compliance with cybersecurity regulations.

Ingine’s focus is on providing a security operations center as a service, with offices in Lisbon and Bermuda, ensuring redundancy in case of emergencies. This service offers robust protection, proactive detection, rapid response, and actionable insights.

CEO Fernando de Deus emphasized the increasing demand for cybersecurity services and the need for specialized expertise. He stated that their partnership with Redshift will cater to the needs of both large international companies in Bermuda and smaller local businesses. The goal is to establish local talent in Bermuda while also expanding their operations to other regions such as the Bahamas and Jamaica.

Redshift, led by ex-military CEO João Manso, brings extensive experience in cybersecurity solutions and services. The company has been focused on providing cybersecurity support to large Portuguese and international companies operating in Portugal, Europe, and Africa. Redshift also works closely with universities and technical schools to promote cybersecurity education and skill development.

Manso highlighted the importance of not only providing cybersecurity services but also fostering a deeper understanding of cybersecurity and cyber-resilience. Redshift aims to support young people in Bermuda by helping them acquire the necessary skills to work in the field.

To ensure data sovereignty and maintain control over information, Redshift and Ingine have designed a service where customer data will stay within Bermuda. Redshift analysts will work remotely on local systems, eliminating the need to store any information outside of Bermuda.

Ingine plans to collaborate with Connectech, a technology school in Bermuda, to provide local training and expand the talent pool for their security operations center. CEO Fernando de Deus expressed confidence in the ability of Bermudians to excel in cybersecurity roles, emphasizing the breadth of expertise required in this field.

The partnership between Ingine and Redshift aims to train and onboard local talent quickly, enabling them to support and service companies under contract by Ingine. The ultimate goal is to develop a skilled workforce that can also be utilized beyond Bermuda’s borders.

With this collaboration, Bermuda is poised to become a hub for cutting-edge cybersecurity services, attracting both local and international businesses seeking top-notch protection for their data and operations.
