Paradigm, the mortgage, protection, and compliance services proposition, has announced the addition of a new Cybersecurity test module on its CPD Test Zone. The module aims to help firms understand various cybersecurity issues, including common types of cyber-attacks, business protection strategies, and low-cost preventive measures.
The Cybersecurity Module within the Academy and Test Zone is suitable for all advisory firm staff, with a particular focus on senior managers responsible for safeguarding against data breaches and financial crime. The CPD Test Zone offers video learning, followed by multiple-choice questions and case studies, allowing advisers to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios.
In addition to the Cybersecurity test, the CPD Academy provides free access to a wide range of CPD activities and training materials. It also offers details of CPD-focused events and an extensive literature library.
Christine Newell, Mortgage Technical Director at Paradigm, emphasized the importance of protecting firms and clients from cyber threats. She highlighted that last year, 39% of UK businesses experienced cyber-attacks, with an average cost of £4,200 per breach. The new Cybersecurity module aims to educate individuals responsible for cybersecurity on potential breaches and effective protective measures.
Newell also mentioned that under Consumer Duty, firms are looking to enhance their training and competency schemes to demonstrate a customer-centric approach. With 16 tests available, she recommended managers consider the Cybersecurity module as part of their solution.
