Artificial intelligence (AI) and cybercrime are becoming increasingly intertwined, with hackers now offering AI-enabled malware as a service. However, this presents an opportunity for cybersecurity companies like Darktrace, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary. Darktrace is the UK’s only listed AI-cybersecurity business and stands out from its competitors by using unsupervised AI to identify and block potential attacks. With close to 9,000 subscribers on multiyear contracts, Darktrace is considered a mainstream player in the industry. While the US is its largest market, Darktrace aims to penetrate further into the lucrative American market and have 150,000 big corporate customers in the near future. Despite its growth and profitability, Darktrace’s shares are undervalued compared to its US counterparts. The company’s association with Autonomy, a company accused of fraudulent practices, has also raised concerns among investors. However, Darktrace remains confident in its growth prospects and is determined to prove its worth in the market.
