"Global Cybersecurity Association Introduces Groundbreaking GCA Index to Strengthen Global Cyber Defense"

Global Cybersecurity Association Introduces Groundbreaking GCA Index to Strengthen Global Cyber DefenseThe Global Cybersecurity Association (GCA) recently unveiled the ‘GCA Index’ at a conference in New Delhi called “Empowering Cybersecurity: Bringing youth, industry citizen & government on a common platform.” This groundbreaking Index will serve as a reliable resource, providing insights into various use cases and showcasing the products, services, and solutions available in the market.

The GCA’s mission is to become India’s leading cybersecurity advocate by offering individuals and organizations reliable resources on all aspects of cybersecurity threats and protection through various tools. The organization also aims to empower individuals and organizations to navigate the ever-changing landscape of digital security with confidence. With 76 crore citizens and an average of 40 crore e-transactions occurring daily, it is crucial to address this critical aspect of cybersecurity.

During the launch event of the ‘GCA Index,’ Gulshan Rai, Former National Cybersecurity Coordinator and Former DG, CERT-In, expressed his optimism about India’s cybersecurity ranking. He stated, “India has consistently been ranked 10th since 2021. However, with the establishment of the Global Cybersecurity Association (GCA), we anticipate further improvement. To achieve this, we must address the crucial issue of managing the interface of IT and OT in the near future. If we fail to act now, we will struggle to manage the ever-growing cyber threats. GCA will serve as a guiding light for the government and citizens, working together to make India cybersecure. The launch of the ‘GCA Index’ marks our first step towards achieving this goal.”

Rajeev Bhadauria, Advisor, Reliance ADA Group, highlighted the challenges posed by rapidly advancing technology. He said, “Humans still have paleolithic emotions, institutions are stuck in medieval times, and we have to face God-like technology. That’s why GCA’s role is crucial because it must combat this God-like technology with love, wisdom, and prudence. Cybersecurity is not a new concept, and we have witnessed significant developments. Currently, we are facing the emergence of Gen-AI, which poses an even greater threat.”

Manoj Bhale, President of the Global Cybersecurity Association, emphasized the importance of collective experience and action in building a secure digital India. Through accessible resources, collaborative forums, and the ‘GCA Index,’ the organization aims to equip stakeholders with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively combat cyber threats.

Roopali Mehra, Member of the Governing Council of the Global Cybersecurity Association, acknowledged that India’s digital journey brings immense opportunities but also vulnerabilities. The GCA serves as a sentinel, raising awareness and enabling informed cybersecurity decisions for all. It acts as a bridge between knowledge and action, empowering Digital Naagriks (citizens) and Experts to become active defenders of our digital borders.

The launch of the ‘GCA Index’ marks a significant milestone in India’s journey towards becoming cybersecure. With the support of the Global Cybersecurity Association, individuals and organizations can now access reliable resources and collaborate to combat cyber threats effectively.
