A recent report has revealed that while there has been a decrease in cybersecurity readiness compared to last year, many companies may still be overestimating their ability to handle cyber threats. The report highlighted a gap in preparedness, indicating that some industries are better equipped than others.
According to the report, industries such as financial services, technology services, media and communications, and manufacturing are leading the pack in terms of cybersecurity readiness. However, industries like Personal Care and Services, Education, and Wholesale are in need of significant improvement.
Despite increased focus and investment in addressing cyber threats in New Zealand, many organizations are still not adequately prepared. The report emphasized that the level of cybersecurity threats is surpassing the protective measures being implemented by companies.
It is clear that there is still work to be done in order to enhance cybersecurity readiness across all industries in New Zealand.
