Local Cybersecurity Firm Receives Funding to Enhance Protection for South West BusinessesA cybersecurity firm based in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire has received funding from Barclays to expand its work with local businesses.

CyNam, which has been promoting industry collaboration since 2017, has been granted funding from Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme.

The firm aims to assist local businesses in working together to develop and promote new technologies. With the support of Eagle Labs funding, CyNam plans to offer fast-track entrepreneurial programs, one-to-one mentoring, events, and workshops.

Hollie Wakefield, general manager of CyNam, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “The Western Gateway’s mapping exercise of the regional ecosystem has already highlighted significant capabilities in cybersecurity and emerging technologies such as space, AI, agritech, quantum, and semiconductors. However, visibility and connectivity between these clusters remain limited. This project will empower CyNam to leverage its established network and expertise to foster collaboration, address the unique security challenges faced by emerging technology startups, and attract stronger investment interest to the region. This program has been specifically designed to unlock the capabilities of the locality.”
