This week, Mimecast unveiled its Partner ONE MSP programme, aimed at meeting the cybersecurity needs of its partners.

The new partner experience is designed to offer a streamlined onboarding process, data-driven customer insights, and an enhanced user experience with a redesigned partner portal.

“In the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape, selecting the right security partners is crucial for MSPs – and our updated programme is tailored to support partners in all aspects,” says Stan de Boisset, SVP of global channels at Mimecast.

CRN caught up with de Boisset to delve into the benefits of the new scheme for the channel and Mimecast’s partners.

“We have a strong presence in the UK, the US, South Africa, and Australia, but our goal is to expand globally,” de Boisset explains.

“That’s why we have consolidated our reseller business under one brand to focus on growth.

“We have implemented a global rollout with varying requirements but a consistent structure.

“Previously, we were not heavily involved with MSPs worldwide, which is why we are now investing in managed service providers in several countries including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, Mexico, and Indonesia.”

In addition to its global strategy, Mimecast is strengthening its MSP presence in its domestic market; this year alone, Mimecast acquired three US cybersecurity MSPs, Elevate Security, Code42, and Aware.

“MSPs are now our top priority, and the new programme is a key part of our overall strategy,” de Boisset emphasizes.

“Our programme introduces new offerings, products, experiences, and capabilities for our partners.

“Partners will not only benefit from a great programme but also gain access to more functionalities than ever before.”

The SVP notes that Mimecast currently has around 3,000 partners, with one third being MSPs.

The vendor’s channel partners include major organizations such as Softcat and Bytes in the UK, as well as Bechtle in Germany. Mimecast also has technology partnerships with cybersecurity vendors like Optiv, GuidePoint, and CrowdStrike.

The new channel initiative stems from Mimecast’s collaboration with its partner advisory council, according to de Boisset.

“We made a concerted effort to gather feedback not only from our top partners but also from those we may not know as well.”

Such feedback is crucial to de Boisset as he aims for the programme to be “all about the partners.”

“It’s important to focus on the partners and have meaningful conversations to stay relevant,” he adds.
