Island Computer Systems Ltd (ICS), the beloved local computer store that has been serving the Isle of Wight for 43 years, has made the tough decision to close its physical doors. The company cites changing market trends and the growing popularity of online shopping as the reasons behind this move.

On November 24 at 4pm, ICS will bid farewell to its Horsebridge Hill location. Since 1980, ICS has been a go-to destination for technology enthusiasts, offering a wide range of hardware, software, and expert advice.

A spokesperson for the company expressed their gratitude to the loyal customers who have supported them throughout the years, saying, “The decision to close the physical store is not taken lightly.” However, they also shared some exciting news. Although the storefront may be closing, ICS will continue to thrive as a Bentley Systems Authorised Channel Partner, specializing in marine and engineering analysis software.

Starting from November 25, ICS will exclusively operate online, providing Maxsurf naval architecture, Multiframe structural software, MicroStation CAD, and training. Existing PC customers, including Microsoft 365 subscribers in need of ongoing support, are advised to reach out to Danny at Island PC Services or email [email protected]

To celebrate the legacy of ICS, a farewell sale will begin today (November 15). Customers will have the opportunity to grab incredible deals on the remaining physical inventory of the company.

An emotional spokesperson for ICS concluded by saying, “As we embark on this new chapter, we look forward to continuing our journey online.” They also hinted at exciting developments in the future of technology retail. Stay tuned!
