A tragic car crash on Father’s Day last year has taken a heartbreaking turn as an inquest reveals it was likely a murder-suicide involving a father and his toddler. Ashley Henry, 35, drove his Blue Nissan Qashqai into an oncoming HGV on the A153 in Lincolnshire, resulting in the deaths of both him and his two-year-old daughter Oria. The inquest heard that Oria may not have been alive at the time of the collision, and while the exact cause of her death could not be determined, it was deemed to be the result of an unlawful act prior to the crash.
Ashley, who was estranged from his partner, had a history of anxiety and depression and left a note expressing his intention to end both his own life and that of his daughter on Father’s Day. Oria’s mother, Rachael Leader, shared a touching tribute to her daughter, expressing her love and grief over the loss of her precious child.
The heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support for those struggling with difficult circumstances.
