A tragic car crash involving a father and his toddler on Father’s Day last year has been revealed as a probable murder-suicide, an inquest heard. Ashley Henry, 35, drove his Blue Nissan Qashqai into an oncoming HGV on the A153 between Ruskington and Anwick, Lincolnshire. Both he and his two-year-old daughter Oria were found dead at the scene, leading to a murder probe.
The inquest at Grimsby Town Hall heard that it was likely Oria was not alive at the time of the collision. The coroner’s report stated that her death was likely the result of an unlawful act carried out before the road traffic collision.
Oria’s mother, Rachael Leader, released a touching tribute to her daughter after the tragic incident. She expressed her love for Oria and shared memories of their time together. The father, Ashley, had a history of anxiety and depression and left a note indicating his intention to end both his own life and that of his daughter on Father’s Day.
The heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support for those in need. Oria’s memory will continue to shine through her loved ones as they cherish the moments they shared with her.
