New photo reveals updated appearance of William TyrrellA cutting-edge image created by a top US crime lab could hold the key to solving one of Australia’s most puzzling mysteries a decade after William Tyrrell disappeared without a trace. The three-year-old vanished from his foster grandmother’s home in Kendall on the NSW mid north coast on September 12, 2014, and has not been seen since.

Forensic imaging experts at Parabon Nano Labs have released a computer-generated image of what William might look like at age 13, offering a glimpse into what he could look like today. Dr. Xanthé Mallett, an Associate Professor in Criminology at the University of Newcastle, praised the accuracy of the age progression in the image.

The hope is that this new image could prompt someone with information about William’s disappearance to come forward and help solve this enduring mystery. Despite the ongoing investigation and numerous searches, no trace of William has been found. Former detective Gary Jubelin, who led the search for four years, believes there needs to be a broader review of the investigation.

As the 10th anniversary of William’s disappearance passed, NSW Police issued a statement indicating that detectives continue to prepare information for the coronial inquest. NSW Premier Chris Minns emphasized the $1 million reward for information leading to William being found. The final block of hearings for the inquest is set to take place in November and December.
