The FBI is investigating a possible hack of Fox News computers that may have resulted in the theft of documents and footage that were later leaked to other media outlets. The stolen material includes unaired footage of Tucker Carlson’s interview with Kanye West, which was published by Vice News, and a series of leaked videos published by Media Matters for America. As part of the investigation, the FBI searched the home of media consultant Tim Burke and his wife, Tampa City Council member Lynn Hurtak. Burke has not been accused of any wrongdoing or criminally charged. Fox News asked Media Matters to stop publishing unaired footage in the FOXLEAKS series, but the group rejected the demand, insisting that it had the right to cover newsworthy leaked materials.
