Lavia's second bid confirmed, Jordan Henderson departure in Liverpool transfer news

Jurgen Klopp Speaks Out on Jordan Henderson’s Departure

Jurgen Klopp has expressed his admiration for Jordan Henderson’s remarkable career at Liverpool, describing it as “special.” The Liverpool manager believes that Henderson should embrace his new adventure in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq.

“At the moment, everything is absolutely fine. However, this process has been ongoing for quite some time, allowing us to adapt and get accustomed to it,” Klopp stated. “In football and in life, these things happen, and it’s normal.”

Upon returning to Liverpool on Monday, Henderson took the time to bid a proper farewell to the team and coaching staff, a gesture that Klopp found truly heartwarming. “It was a really nice thing to do, and I know how difficult this decision was for Hendo. I’ve been by his side throughout,” Klopp added.

“It’s sad and definitely feels strange because he’s been the only captain I’ve had here at Liverpool. However, I also believe it’s an exciting opportunity for him. Undoubtedly, we will miss him both as a person and as a player. But as I said, that’s just how football works.”

Henderson, who joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2011, left the team’s training base in Germany last week after Liverpool and Al-Ettifaq reached an initial £12m agreement.

“Hendo is an exceptional player, a complete package,” Klopp praised. “He possesses not only physicality but also exceptional technical skills. Sometimes players tend to focus on their specific role on the pitch, like being a fighter, and may not always showcase their technical abilities.”

“You cannot accumulate such a vast number of Premier League games, captain Liverpool, or participate in the world’s most important matches if you don’t possess exceptional technical skills – and he does,” Klopp emphasized. “He is equally proficient with his right and left foot. Tactically, he has made significant improvements since he arrived here, adapting to different positions remarkably well. He even played as a center-back for us and performed outstandingly. He also excelled in the No.6 position.”
