A “cybersecurity issue” caused the temporary shutdown of computer systems at various MGM Resorts International properties across the United States, according to a company official. The incident, which began on Sunday, affected reservation systems and casino floors in Las Vegas and several other states including Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio. However, the company assured that casino gaming floors remained operational. The FBI is aware of the ongoing incident but has not disclosed any details. MGM Resorts stated that it had identified the cybersecurity issue and was working with external experts to investigate and protect data. The company’s website was temporarily down, but alternative contact information was provided for reservations and property inquiries. Some customers also reported difficulties logging into the company’s BetMGM website in Nevada. MGM Resorts owns numerous hotels in Las Vegas, including popular establishments like MGM Grand, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria, New York-New York, Park MGM, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Delano. The company also operates properties in China and Macau.
