Look Mum No Computer, the British YouTuber, inventor, and musician, has taken his Game Boy skills to a whole new level. In a recent video, Look Mum No Computer, whose real name is Sam Battle, showcased his modded Game Boy’s ability to play a church organ.

Throughout his career, Look Mum No Computer has created numerous videos using the original Game Boy to produce electronic music. However, this latest project involved using the Arduinoboy mod and LSDJ to control other instruments through MIDI.

Earlier this year, Battle impressed viewers with a video where he composed a song note-by-note on the Game Boy before playing it through a series of synthesizers. Now, he has taken things even further by incorporating a church organ he purchased on eBay into his setup.

According to Battle, the organ was originally from a Bristol church that closed down in 1975. He managed to buy it for less than the cost of a typical synthesizer and spent the next year rebuilding it. He then added MIDI capabilities to the organ, allowing it to receive commands from digital sources like the Game Boy.

In the video, Look Mum No Computer demonstrates the surprising effectiveness of playing a church organ with a Game Boy. The combination of vintage technology and modern modifications creates a unique and captivating sound.

Fans of Look Mum No Computer will have the opportunity to see him perform live later this month. His only show of 2023 will take place at London’s Oslo on November 22. Tickets are available for purchase now.

This isn’t the first time musicians have used unconventional controllers to play video games. Twitch streamer DeanoBeano went viral last year for playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 using a recorder. Other examples include playing Warzone with a Guitar Hero controller and a drum kit. Harpist Anna Ellsworth even defeated an Elden Ring boss using her instrument and MIDI technology.

It’s incredible to see the creativity and innovation that musicians bring to the gaming world. From modified controllers to unexpected instruments, they continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible. In related news, Konami has announced the formation of a new in-house Silent Hill development team, known as The Silent Production Team, who are currently working on three titles.
