Investment firm managed service provider Abacus Group has recently opened a new office in central Edinburgh. This expansion comes as a result of the company’s impressive revenue growth of 15% last year, building on the 21% growth recorded in 2022.
The new office will initially accommodate 15 employees, with plans to consider larger office options within the next 12 to 24 months. Abacus Group also expects to fill additional roles in the coming months to support their projected growth of 19%.
The capital facility will serve as a base for security analysts, cloud architects, and systems engineers. Additionally, prospective candidates will have the opportunity to apply for customer service or help desk support roles. Abacus Group selected Edinburgh due to its reputation for having a highly-skilled and diverse workforce, particularly in sectors such as technology and finance.
In the future, Abacus Group aims to engage with universities in Edinburgh and the surrounding region to participate in graduate recruitment schemes. This will further enhance their access to talented individuals.
Tom Cole, the managing director for UK and Europe at Abacus, expressed his excitement about the new office, stating, “We uncovered that there is a rich pool of cyber security expertise in the Edinburgh area. There is a consistent cadence of talent coming through the education system in Scotland, and the new office directly enables us to capture a share of those skills.”
Abacus Group’s growth in recent years has been driven by client demand in Scotland and across the UK. The company has already expanded its London office, which currently has 40 employees. Cole emphasized the importance of client satisfaction and how the new Edinburgh office will enable them to provide a consistently high level of quality service throughout the UK. He also highlighted their readiness to bring their expertise to regulated financial firms across the region.
