Investment firm managed service provider Abacus Group has recently opened a new office in central Edinburgh. This expansion comes as a result of the company’s impressive revenue growth of 15% last year, following a 21% increase in 2022.
The new office will initially house 15 employees, with plans to explore larger office options within the next 12 to 24 months. Abacus Group also expects to hire additional staff in the coming months to support their projected growth of 19%.
The capital facility will serve as a base for security analysts, cloud architects, and systems engineers. It will also provide opportunities for prospective candidates in customer service and help desk support roles. Abacus Group chose Edinburgh due to its reputation for having a highly-skilled and diverse workforce, particularly in technology and finance sectors known for research and innovation.
In the future, Abacus Group plans to engage with universities in Edinburgh and the surrounding region to participate in graduate recruitment schemes.
Tom Cole, the managing director for UK and Europe at Abacus, expressed enthusiasm about the new office, stating, “We uncovered that there is a rich pool of cyber security expertise in the Edinburgh area. There is a consistent cadence of talent coming through the education system in Scotland, and the new office directly enables us to capture a share of those skills.”
Abacus Group’s growth in recent years has been driven by client demand in Scotland and across the UK. The company has already expanded its London office, which currently has 40 employees. Cole emphasized that the new Edinburgh office will enhance their ability to provide high-quality services to customers throughout the UK and establish a presence in Scotland.
