Air IT has recently acquired British solutions provider SCS Technologies, marking its 12th acquisition since 2020. Both companies specialize in providing outsourced, managed IT support services for the UK SME market.
This announcement comes on the heels of Air IT’s acquisition of Yorkshire-based IT service provider Vital Technology Group eight months ago. James Steventon, CEO of Air IT, expressed excitement about the addition of SCS to their team, highlighting their shared approach, culture, and commitment to exceptional client service.
Matthew Stead, MD of Lincoln-based SCS, shared that the company has spent the last 30 years building a successful regional business with a strong local reputation. Joining forces with Air IT will bring additional technical expertise and capabilities to their portfolio, allowing them to further grow and establish themselves as the preferred IT partner for SMEs in Lincolnshire and beyond.
Air IT, founded in 2005, is a private equity-backed MSP specializing in IT support, cloud infrastructure, modern workplace solutions, cybersecurity, and business intelligence. The acquisition of SCS is part of a larger buy-and-build strategy initiated after Air IT was acquired by August Equity, with John Whitty taking the helm as CEO.
Whitty, who succeeded Todd McQuilkin as CEO, plans to expand Air IT’s presence nationally through strategic mergers and acquisitions. He praised Air IT’s strong foundation in terms of investments in people, training, automation tools, and systems, setting the stage for further growth and success in the IT services industry.
