"NSW's Cicom Teams Up with Access4 for Enhanced Telephony Services"

NSW's Cicom Teams Up with Access4 for Enhanced Telephony ServicesRegional managed IT services provider Cicom has revamped its telephony offerings by teaming up with Melbourne Communications as a Service (UCaaS) wholesaler Access4.

Based in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Cicom recently updated its unified communications technology stack. Clinton Carey, the founder of Cicom, took matters into his own hands after becoming frustrated with the high costs of business telephony services. He built a phone system on the Google Cloud Platform using 3CX and VoIP trunks from another supplier, resulting in a significant reduction in telephony costs.

“We thought, ‘We can do this for other people as well’,” Carey said.

As Cicom’s client list grew, managing multiple platforms became increasingly complex. Recognizing the need for a more streamlined solution, Carey sought a partnership with Access4, which understood the needs of regional Australian businesses.

The transition to Access4’s cloud-hosted telephony solution involved moving existing customers and sales processes to the SASBOSS platform, providing a “single pane of glass” for Cicom. Access4 handled the deployment behind the scenes, allowing Cicom to focus on customer-facing aspects.

“We knew we weren’t alone – and that there was a genuine willingness to engage our business and customers on the cutover experience,” Carey said.

Looking ahead, Cicom plans to expand its services into new areas of northern NSW and explore opportunities to offer additional managed IT services to existing customers.
