Rising threats and skill limitations at small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers continue to drive growth for managed security services providers (MSSPs).
Looking ahead to 2025, security and artificial intelligence (AI) are expected to be key areas of focus in the channel. Denis Ferrand-Ajchenbaum, chief growth officer at Infinigate Group and managing director of Infinigate Cloud, predicts further growth for MSSPs next year.
“Cyber security concerns are not just for large enterprises,” he emphasized. “SMBs are increasingly aware of the threats they face, with a worrying increase in data losses due to cyber attacks. This has led to a rise in demand for managed security services, with the global market projected to reach $67bn by 2025.”
Dean Watson, lead solution expert for secure networking at Infinigate UK&I, highlighted the dual nature of AI as both a risk and an opportunity for the channel in the coming year. As AI adoption surges, both threat actors and security operations centers will leverage AI-powered tools to enhance their capabilities.
With the expected increase in AI-capable machines entering offices and homes, there will be new risks to address. Watson emphasized the channel’s role in helping businesses identify high-impact use cases for AI and ensuring responsible use to mitigate risks.
Overall, the growing demand for managed security services presents a significant opportunity for IT providers to expand their customer base and deepen existing relationships. By partnering with specialist providers, partners can offer services without heavy investments in infrastructure and expertise.
