Sussex-based VAR Focus Group has kicked off the year with its first acquisition of Matrix247, as part of its plan to make six acquisitions in 2025. The purchase aims to enhance Focus Group’s contact centre as a service (CCaaS) and managed IT offering, providing customer-centric solutions to businesses across the UK.
Matrix247, operating since 1991 in Lancashire, offers comms, IT, and mobile services to SMEs and mid-tier legal sector firms in the North. With a previous acquisition of Task OS in 2021, Matrix247 expanded its IT technical activities and reach into the education sector.
The alignment of Matrix247’s CCaaS offering with Focus Group’s recent investment in Make.Contact, a Puzzel partner, solidifies the partnership. Puzzel, a Norwegian vendor providing CCaaS solutions, helps businesses manage operations across various channels.
Stephen Pritchard, CEO of Matrix247, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Their scale, expertise, and investment will enable us to build upon the fantastic work our team has already achieved.” Neil Hall, CEO of Focus Group, highlighted Matrix247’s growth and customer acquisition capabilities, emphasizing the potential for further enhancement in CCaaS and managed IT offerings.
With a history of mergers, including ten acquisitions in 2024, Focus Group’s strategic approach continues in 2025. Rhys Bailey, CRO at Focus Group, revealed plans for six investments this year, focusing on hosted comms and IT solutions. Matrix247 will operate under its name for the time being, maintaining its exceptional service for customers.
