The Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer, has raised concerns about the recent parliamentary results declared in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) by the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to Dr Tanko-Computer, the NPP allegedly fabricated their pink sheets for the contested constituencies of Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South. He expressed his disagreement with the results from the re-collation exercise, claiming that the NPP manufactured their own pink sheets to skew the numbers in their favor.
After the re-collation exercise, the results showed the NPP winning in Tema Central, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central. However, Dr Tanko-Computer insisted that these figures were manipulated by the NPP’s opponents and do not reflect the true results of the December 7 polls.
Despite their concerns, Dr Tanko-Computer emphasized that the NDC is respecting the legal process and will address the disputed constituencies through their legal team. The re-collation exercise for Ablekuma North was suspended due to fresh challenges in re-collating results from some polling stations.
It remains to be seen how this dispute will be resolved as both parties stand firm in their positions.
