Linksys Unveils New NAS Device for Small Businesses
Linksys has recently announced the launch of a new NAS device designed to offer small businesses a cost-effective and user-friendly solution for storing data and content. The device, called Linksys EFG250 NAS, comes with 250GB of IDE hard-drive storage space and can be positioned upright or laid flat on the desktop to accommodate small spaces.
One of the standout features of the Linksys NAS appliance is its expandable storage capacity. By adding an additional 250GB drive to the empty second drive bay, users can increase the storage capacity to 500GB. This allows for more data to be stored and provides flexibility for future storage needs. Users also have the option to manually back up the first drive or schedule automatic backups once the second drive is installed.
To further enhance convenience, Linksys offers additional quick-connect hard drive trays (EFGHDT2), enabling users to easily swap multiple backup drives and create rotating backups. This feature ensures that data is securely backed up and readily accessible whenever needed.
The Linksys NAS device is equipped with a Gigabit-ready 10/100/1000 port, enabling seamless connection to a Gigabit backbone. Additionally, it can connect to wireless networks in areas without Ethernet connections by utilizing the Linksys Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge (WET54G). This wireless capability provides flexibility in terms of device placement and network accessibility.
