Money expert Martin Lewis has issued an apology on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, after missing a scheduled appearance on ITV News. Prior to the broadcast, Lewis informed his followers that he was experiencing technical difficulties with his computer. Unfortunately, he was unable to resolve the issue in time and had to cancel the appearance. Lewis took to X to explain the situation to his 2.5 million followers, expressing his frustration at missing the opportunity. He usually conducts interviews using a broadcast system called Globelynx, but due to technical issues, he had to resort to using Zoom, which then prompted his computer to restart and update. Many of his followers offered advice, although it was too late to salvage the situation. Representatives for Martin Lewis have been contacted for further comment by Express.co.uk.
This incident follows Lewis’ recent apology for using a “terrible” choice of phrase on his ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show. While discussing Christmas expenses, he inadvertently referred to “adoptive children or your children,” causing offense. Realizing his mistake, Lewis clarified on X that he meant no harm and acknowledged that adopted children are indeed considered one’s own children. He also highlighted the importance of raising awareness about Child Trust Funds for adopted children aged 12 to 21, which could potentially be worth £1,000.
