Linksys Launches New NAS Device for Small Businesses
Linksys has recently unveiled its latest NAS device, designed to offer small businesses an affordable and user-friendly solution for storing data and content. The new appliance provides 250GB of IDE hard-drive storage space and can be placed upright or laid flat on a desktop, making it ideal for small spaces.
For those requiring more storage capacity, the device allows for easy expansion by adding an additional 250GB drive to the empty second drive bay, increasing the total storage to 500GB. Users can manually back up the first drive or schedule automatic backups once the second drive is installed.
To facilitate rotating backups, Linksys also offers additional quick-connect hard drive trays (EFGHDT2), allowing users to quickly swap multiple backup drives.
Equipped with a 10/100/1000 port, the Linksys NAS device is Gigabit-ready, enabling seamless connection to a Gigabit backbone. In areas where Ethernet connections are not available, the device can be connected to a wireless network using the Linksys Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge (WET54G).
The Linksys EFG250 NAS solution is now available for purchase at an estimated street price of $899.
