Administrators successfully saved all 140 jobs at a Daresbury group that was impacted by a cyber incident late last year. Peter Dickens, Sarah O’Toole, and Helen Wheeler-Jones of PwC were appointed as joint administrators of City Business Solutions UK Ltd, Converge-IT.Net Ltd, and Sprout Technologies Ltd. They completed a sale of the business and assets to Bluecube Cyber Security Solutions Ltd. The group, which provides cloud and managed IT services to legal firms and barristers’ chambers in the UK and Ireland, faced challenges after a cyber incident in November 2023. Despite the disruption, operations were restored by December 2023. The deal has no impact on Tiger Eye Consulting Ltd or Sprout Technologies NZ Ltd. Helen Wheeler-Jones stated that the deal is the best outcome for the group and its clients in the legal sector. Bluecube CEO, James Hawker, sees this as an opportunity to build a leading MSP practice for the legal sector in the UK and Ireland. The transition to Bluecube is expected to provide market-leading IT services for the group’s people and customers.
