Report: Google developing AI to control computersGoogle is reportedly working on artificial intelligence technology that can take over a web browser to assist with tasks like research and shopping, according to a report from The Information. The product, known as Project Jarvis, is expected to be showcased in December alongside Google’s upcoming Gemini large language model.

This development comes as Microsoft-backed OpenAI also aims to enable its models to autonomously browse the web for research purposes with the help of a “CUA,” or computer-using agent. Anthropic and Google are taking this concept a step further by creating software that can directly interact with a person’s computer or browser.

Google has not yet responded to requests for comment on this new technology. The article was published on October 27, 2024, at 05:32 PM IST.
